Hi there, thank you for your mail; unfortunately I'm out of the office between 8/7 and 8/24 and won't be able to answer email over that time. I look forward to dealing with your query on my return. Apologies for any inconvenience caused in the meantime.

Best wishes,

In version 3 there is no way to undo the connection without deleting one of the two people that were connected so double or triple check your selection before clicking add.*

Hope that helps

*Edit:  Just to clarify I meant no way using the program/user interface as offered.  It can certainly be implemented in the code and certainly proficient users may be able to follow cometomma's advice :)

Hi There.

I can confirm that it is not impossible :).

There was no DELETE button, So I decided to dig it myself. I have deleted the sibling tags and I am back to normal ;)

 HOW?

Rename the file extension to .zip and extract it to its folder. (like you already mentioned in other post)

Open content.xml from the extracted folder and DELETE the <Sibling> tags.

e.g removing Sister 3 and Brother 2 from EXAMPLE FAMILY in the bottom xml..  just remove the highlighted syntaxes.." You will have to do it for each person i.e. then got to Brother 2 and Sister 3 and remove Example from there too".

      <LastName>Example</LastName>
      <Gender>Male</Gender>

Hope this help somebody with the same problem..

Hi.

I have stepped in the same, but it seems to be a feature(!!???!!!).

You could only delete a person without any other tree/family connections. Something like the last leaf of any tree. If that’s the case, the Delete button appears, otherwise not.

Your method work, but you should not make any mistake, no empty connections or relations. I learned that the hard way ;)

…methink…

You're absolutely correct: you can delete people completely from the tree if they have less than 3 relationships (generally).  This also removes their connections to other people.

Hopefully the ability to delete a relationship without deleting the person will make it into a future release.  It's very easy to implement.
