Data Sharing

I'm still not a fan of the .FamilyX format.  If I wish to collaborate via email with someone, I do not want to send them the same pictures and documents each time.  In some cases, I do not want to send it to them at all.  I just want them to receive links to the files, and if they have them, then they can see them.  It would be nice if it still used relative paths to point to locally stored data, and if someone new needs the whole thing, it will compress it into one file so that it can be emailed to them.  Until collaboration gets added, this is a huge problem for those of us with thousands of family members.

Kudos on Version 4 though, especially to Andrew (aka Elyoh).

Thanks!

That's a fair point when files get large.

I would like to point out the improvements to the Save As function.

This could be used to share individual people or smaller family groups for collaboration.  If another person makes changes to these smaller files, you can try the new Merge funtion to copy the changes back into your tree.

Not precisely what you requested but it may be helpful :)

Hope that helps
