Spouse / Partner

Is there an option to add a partner relationship. All spouse/partner relationships come up as "Husband to..." or "Wife to...". Is there a partner or "non-married" option?

There isn't but it's a very good point as like you say spouse/partner does not necessarily mean "Husband" or "Wife".  Maybe "In a relationship with" would allow greater flexibility requirng only minimal changes.

Now you make the point, I suppose "marriage" and "divorce" doesn't quite fit either.

If we are in suggestion mode...

The Catholics have a family relation made with the child on baptism. Sometimes it’s another family member, an uncle, a grandfather or even a family friend. I just don’t know if it’s the same on non Catholics but it’s important as it implies a new kind of family members. There is the same in marriage but here they act also as act as witnesses.

Maybe an easy task to add the menu items, but messing with the BD could be hard task.

@dsazevedo

Yep that is true.  In UK we call them "god parents" who act almost as sponsors/witnesses at Baptism, Confirmation, First Confession, First Holy Communion etc.  AFAIK (as a Catholic) it's not the sort of relationship that has any sort of legal status like husband, wife, son daughter etc.  But definately an interesting thought.  But not easy to implement...
